i hate getting older. that's why a day before my birthday, my mood gets a liitle emotional and crankier than usual. that's my way of making sure that when my birthday arrives, i'm in a happy mood already. we can't stop getting old as long as we inhale and exhale. the alternative to getting old is unacceptable. so we might as well do what we do best with our own little lives, cope. and that means embracing reality and relishing the friends and family we have, the memories of great and not-so-great moments, and thanking the world for making us part of it. making our own little history in our own little way.
and for this year, i decided to skip my usual blog and come up with my pinaka-list. since i got flooded with the usual and not so usual greetings over the phenomena called social network (facebook, friendster, multiply, and plurk), the Morning Rush Forum, over RX93.1, and on my cellphone. let's get it on:
1. pinaka-MAIKLI - "hbd" by high school kabarkada and recent kumpare, ERROLL EDUARTE
2. pinaka-MAKULIT - from co-Rusher KYTES FERRER who forwrded her text sa RX knowing na sa dami ng narereceive ni Delle na message over 2299, baka hindi na mabasa. it went "RX K2YTES happy birthday to two lovable guys - chico and acer!"
3. pinaka-MASARAP PAKINGGAN LIVE- it's a 3 way tie between the following: CHICO and DELAMAR greeting me Happy Birthday on TMR, ASTROBOY and SPECIALIST on THE SHOW, and CHRISTI and LOUIE on MIXED TAPE!
4. pinaka-MYSTERIOUS - a text from this number,+6583169702...hindi ko madistingusih kung saan ito galing and ayoko replayan kasi baka mahal at hindi naman matanggap. anyone has an idea who this is or where this number came from?
5. pinaka-TOUCHING - from fellow Rusher and co-AI forum judge, GEYP who texted "with age comes wisdom. you and chico are the wisest people i've encountered! hahahappybirthday acer!" -- wow, wisest is a superlative! :)
6. pinaka-HYPER - from my bestfriend CHINIT who texted "hey!hey!hey!heypi birthday! wala ako pambili ng album ni harrison pero alam ko may magbibigay nun sayo kaya hindi nako bibili. hahaha! be good! yan, ibandera mo na yung tarp mo! hehehe! -- fyi, wala pa rin nagbibigay!
7. pinaka-MAAGA - from fellow ENTOMSOC alumna and former crush, hehe, ANNA who wrote "Advanced Happy Birthday" on some Facebook post a day or days before my actual birthday.
8. pinaka-PAMPALUBAGLOOB - from fellow Rusher and the ultimate Foum moderator PURPLEROSE, who sent over a message via TMR and Delle read, "after this year (29th), you stop counting!" -- well, dapat nga! kung wala na sa CALENDAR, nasa THERMOMETER pa naman. tapos sa LOTTO naman. kapag wala na sa Lotto, nasa BINGO pa!
9. pinaka-SERYOSO - from one of the funniest Top Ten entry sender and co-LXP contributor, JHUN13 aka OSCAR DELA HOPIA who texted "Understand how beautifully God has added one more year in you life. not because you need it but because someone else needs you! happy birthday acer" i also liked what he posted on the Forum, "happy birthday to the founder of League of Extraordinary Pervs!! happy birthday Vice!!"
10. pinaka-NAKAKASURPRISE - ay, secret na yun! hehe...
11. pinaka-MAHABA - from my co-rusher and favorite kakulitan na si JERI aka FK GURL who called up my celfone using her office's landline to greet and makipagchikahan pa...sa haba ng usap namin, nadeadbatt ako! hahaha!
12. pinaka-UNEXPECTED - from Kuwait, co-Morning Rush, Grey's Anatomy, WWE, and NBA fanatic KIKOMONSTER called just to greet me happy birthday. how he got my number, he said from...hahaha! pero pare, sobrang appreciated yun!
13. pinaka-NAKAKAGULAT NA GRUPO NG BUMATI - the present/recent ENTOMSOC members! similar to last year, they continued to individually greet me via sms and for that, i am so appreciative! :)
14. pinaka-MALAYO - it's a toss up between my closest "ex", hehe, KEIAN who texted form Las Vegas and ka-Rusher, ka-LXP and ka-laguyo (hahaha!), KIKO who called from Kuwait...winner is: KEIAN, kasi malawak ang pacific ocean, hehe...
15. pinaka-NAKAKATAWA - from the ultimate Top Ten maniac na nawala pero nagbalik sa TMR radar nung June 17 para lang batiin si Chico, JOSE DE VENGENGE! his message to me went, "don't think of it as getting old. think of it as getting closer to DEATH!"
16. pinaka-BASTOS - it's a tie between my ka-Rushers na ka-Plurk din, DHEY aka MASTER B who texted, "papi! haba berdi! miss ko na *yan*!" and JACKE who texted "yo! haba berdie! este, hapi birthday!" i texted her how did she know? and the rest of our text exchange is censored already. hehe...
17. pinaka-ASTIG - from my bestfriend and new kumare, dok ALDEN. her text went "pare, happy birthday!"
18. pinaka-LATE - from my other best friend, former housemate, former collegemate, former officemate, ENTOMSOC brod, kumpare, investor, and client (notice kung gaano kadami ang connection namin!), ROEL SUBAGAN who called me up June 19 to greet me Happy Birthday! ni-hindi man lang belated! talagang akala nya yun ang birthday ko daw!...bumawi naman kasi pumunta sa bahay nung gabi with his wife to also visit my daughter and give me his first ever gift after knowing each other for 11 years, a Beatles shirt!
to those who didn't make it to the list, there's always a next year! hehe...joke lang! again, thanks for all the greetings. you make me wanna look forward to my 30th! acer, really now? :0
